Spitfire Plaque
This is a plaque which was sent to Gibraltar by the Ministry of Aircraft Production as a token of gratitude to the garrison and people of Gibraltar for the purchase of a spitfire through a fund organised by the Gibraltar Chronicle in September 1940. Forty-two days after the opening of the subscription the sum of £5,587.17.6d had been collected.
