Kingsway

The 1934 Gibraltar Directory reported the following:

"The name of the promenade in the Alameda was changed to Kingsway in memory of His late Majesty King Edward VII. and an inscription appears on a tablet in the Band Stand, the stone being laid by General Sir A. Hunter, by command of His Majesty King George V., on the 16th February 1912. The Band Stand cost £384, which was raised by a public subscription."
