Deer antler fragment

So far on our Virtual Museum journey, we have already seen the remains of deer bones, but we did not want to miss the opportunity to show you this magnificent fragment of deer antler.

It was discovered in Vanguard Cave and associated with Neanderthal occupations. In this case, since the remains are not suffering any problems of conservation, we have left it within part of the sediments of cemented sands, due to the calcium carbonate content of the surrounding limestone, which covered it. Isn't it lovely?
