The International Bat Night is an awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for bat conservation and their habitats. Every year in late August, bat enthusiasts organise events such as bat walks, workshops and seminars, and exhibitions.
The Gibraltar National Museum is once again be collaborating with the Gibraltar Ornithological and Natural History Society, its Gib-Bats Project partner, to host the local event on Wednesday 28th August at the John Mackintosh Hall. The event will begin at 8pm with an introductory talk on bats delivered by Tyson Lee Holmes of the Gibraltar National Museum and Albert Yome of GONHS immediately followed by watching wild bats as they emergence from their roost, complete with bat detectors and knowledge from bat experts.
