The Gibraltar Museum will once again be offering our 'Walks Through History' as part of the Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Authority's Summer Sports and Leisure Programme which has become increasingly popular over the years.

This year, we will be offering the ‘Walks’ every Wednesday morning from 12th July to 30th August between 10:00 – 12:00hrs. As in other years, these have been designed for children between 9 and 12 years of age.

Each 'Walk' is different but all are designed to make history come alive as we visit different parts of Gibraltar. Some of the events will be structured as hands-on workshops where children will learn how past cultures produced ceramics, hunted for food and even expressed themselves in art – having a go at it themselves of course!  They will even get the chance to become archaeologists for a day as they learn how to excavate a site from a real archaeologist!

Parents or guardians are welcome to accompany the children.  There is a limit of 15 children per group, so it is essential that you pre-book with us as soon as possible. All bookings will be on a first come, first served basis; unfortunately, we will NOT be able to take on children who turn up on the day without having booked beforehand.

Each activity has a different drop-off and pick-up point, so we will send a reminder before the event to confirm the details.

Children should wear sun hats, comfortable clothing, sensible footwear and bring along a drink (and a camera if they wish).

We also recommend that they wear sunscreen.
